Race for Sight

In 2010 this event benefited the Delta Gamma Foundation nationally and the following local service for sight organizations: the Braille Institute and the Vision of Children Foundation. These organizations share Delta Gamma’s mission to help those who are blind or visually impaired with services or research. We are dedicated to funding this very important cause! This event is public—open to anyone and everyone who would like to join in the fun and help our mission to “Do Good.”

What:

Kart relay races on a high-speed track. Teams compete against each other on a ¼ mile track at speeds of up to 40mph! The races run about 45-minutes each (60 laps). In the relay, each team gets one kart and the team members take turns driving it — the first team in each race to reach 60 laps wins!

• Dinner will be provided, there will be an Opportunity drawing, a silent auction, and the arcade games will be open for play so everyone gets to play for free!
• Trophies are awarded to each driver on each first place team.

Racing

Each team can have between 2-6 drivers. Team entry fee includes: dinner & refreshments, a raffle ticket for each driver, and free video games for everyone in attendance.

Registration

Pricing in 2010 varied between $180-200, depending on when you registered. Please contact Megan Powers, regarding out 2013 fundraising event!

Spectators

Spectators get to watch the fun races and receive dinner, an opportunity drawing ticket, a chance to bid on silent auction items, and play arcade games – all for a nominal fee! The cost is $12-15 per spectator, depending on when you register.

Donations

Please contact Megan Powers if you are interested in donating items for the silent auction or food for the event. Your money will be used to do good!

Drawings

An Opportunity Drawing and Silent Auction with AMAZING prizes will be given. Past prizes included: Three months of flowers from ProFlowers.com, a TWO night stay at ANY Woodfin Suites Hotel, St. Tropez Gift Certificates, Morton’s Steakhouse Gift Certificate, Harbor House Gift Certificate, Hornblower Bay Cruises, Six Flags Passes, Disneyland Passes, See’s Candy, Padres Tickets, Chargers Limited Edition football, and more! The Silent Auction has helped us bring in over $1,000 in the past three years!
