This event was founded in 2005 and has been held five times prior to 2013. This year is the 6th Race for Sight and we expect it to be better than ever! It will benefit the Delta Gamma Foundation, The Vision of Children Foundation, and San Diego’s Braille Institute. These organizations share Delta Gamma’s mission to help those who are blind or visually impaired through services or research. We are dedicated to funding this very important cause! This event is public—open to anyone and everyone who would like to join in the fun and help our mission to “Do Good.”

What is RACE FOR SIGHT?

GO-Kart relay races on a high-speed track to raise money for vision-related charities. Teams compete against each other in a relay (also known as an “Enduro”) on a ¼ mile indoor asphalt track at speeds of up to 40mph! The races run about 45-minutes each (60 laps). In the relay, each team gets one kart and the team members take turns driving it — the first team in each race to reach 60 laps wins!

• Dinner is provided, there’s an opportunity drawing, a silent auction, and the arcade games will be open for FREE PLAY!
• Trophies are awarded to each driver on each first place team and presented at the Winner’s podium.

Sponsorships

This year we are seeking corporate sponsorships in an effort to increase the visibility of the event, while enabling our community to give back. CLICK HERE to access the sponsorship proposal.

Racing

Each team can have between 2-6 drivers. Team entry fee includes: dinner & refreshments, a raffle ticket for each driver, and free video games for everyone in attendance.

Registration

• Early registration is until: April 29
• Regular registration is: April 30 – May 13
• Late registration is: May 14 – day of

Spectators

Spectators get to watch the fun races–cheering on their friends and family–and receive dinner, a chance to bid on silent auction items, and play arcade games – all for a nominal fee!

Spectator Pricing (non-drivers)*:

Late/On-site registration – $25
